These are sought after the bracelets are very chunky usually and are quite a price too. I don’t know if you’ve heard of these, unlike the identity bracelets the curb bracelets and ‘belch er bracelets’ and rope bracelets this is a style on its own and very sought after and priced too.

I have had chains of these and resold them but I think the bracelets are also lovely and the one I especially had come from Italy. A bit about the history of where the design of these come from and why they are so loved now. I will also include a video of how it can also be made by yourself if you should want to make on for personal use or to make it to resell.

History of Byzantine

From just a brief look around apparently Normans and has a history connected to Greece and also the Ottoman empire over through Byzantine I am not too over clear as to the issues around the history but it shows that over the span plenty Arts and creativity prevailed and thous jewelry too within the span earlier than it being overthrown and thus within the span of its resilience arts prevailed. It is strange history distant to around 1400 which is ages ago I didn’t look too much further to go into too much detail…it just that it makes me wonder about the name of the bracelets and why ??

i myself may make a genuine attempt if i can get hold of some sterling silver links and they are not too expensive to make a bracelet or once made one will try another. I am being genuine about this as they cost quite a lot to buy. So one of the days when i am not doing too much and just relaxing at home i will try one it looks nice enough to do from watching this video.

So here goes this is a good place for purchasing links and jewellery tools so to start you off with creating something yourself even if you find they don’t have the sterling silver jump rings still check around and use google search to find more things that could keep you creating the bracelet in the video. I did see some silver plated jump rings but i did not note the size…when you look at video then google with also including size details and see if you find the correct materials you require to make the creation .Also another shop beads wholesale which if you put the word ‘jump rings‘ into search this will help !

Also an excellent place to visit is the bead shop covent garden

Cook sons is very well-known and has various departments you would have to have a good look in there see if there is anything that can be useful and if not then try to google search for yourself and if you have any additional advice that may help others find products like jump rings and closures for the bracelets in sterling silver or if you intend to make in different quality then please let us know by adding to the comments section so others can see .

Hello, What a great post I just saw and the video is an extra plus for me! In the video, the man tells how to clean it and he doesn’t rush going through it and it’s easy to know how to clean sliver and even though I don’t have any sliver things (Does sliver wear for eating count? lol)

Thanks for this again! Have a great day

I love this video about how to make byzantine link chains.  I like the fact that the gentleman takes the time to explain the aspect ratio to ensure that we get it the look we want.  He shows the process clearly and I feel that it would be interesting to make one!  As luck would have it, I got some jewelry making supplies from my mom so I’ll have to order the rings!  I’ll let you know how it goes.

Hi, I found your post on Byzantine Gold very interesting, it would be great to see a story on the history and the issues surrounding this type of Jewelry.
